My Review:
This was such a great story. It follows a young girl through out her tragic life. It started off as a loving families story. One night the Marie Tousant and her mother experience a traumatic event in their back yard. Usually while I read a book, especially a mystery, I can guess what "it" is or "who" did it. I can't do that with Ballentine's books. Every time when I think I figured out the secret I find out that I wasn't even close! That's what I love about this author. It's a mystery right up till the end and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I loved ever aspect of this story, the families story, the childhood friendship, even the romance was sweet, and of course the mystery and horror aspect of the book was amazing. I can't wait to read the next book!

Audrey and Johani are off to the latest gig. They decide to stop for bit of a break and get something to eat when they find out that the town isn't any ordinary town. This started out to be a fun road trip read for me. Reminded me of times when I went road tripping with my girlfriend. Thankfully Ballentine wasn't in charge of that trip!! She frightened and kept me in suspense throughout the whole story. Once again a very seemingly innocent story turns all kind of crazy and I loved every minute of it! The story grabbed me right from the beginning and I couldn't put it down till it was over. I just love Ballentine's books and she is definitely one of my one click authors!

My writing style is an extension of my wide-ranging imagination. I try to write my stories as if I have walked in the character’s shoes. Like most of my characters, I have many-sides. I enjoy exploring the struggles, triumphs, and vulnerabilities in their lives. After all, they are an important part of the story. Therefore, I strive to make the reader care about what happens in their lives.
