Eric left the BDSM scene years ago because he couldn’t find the right partner, opting instead to meet men in quiet coffee shops and piano bars. But when his friend invites him to a posh hook-up party, he meets first time sub Jamie, who he convinces to detail his sexual fantasies during a passionate night together.
The pair soon embark on a relationship that introduces Jamie to the BDSM scene, and plays out his fantasies one by one. But as they approach the final fantasy, will Eric be able to walk away?

Once he goes through, that’s it. He’ll be a Dom again; he’ll have to take care of a sub. And not just any sub, someone brand-new to the lifestyle. He’ll be someone’s first Dom. That’s a lot of responsibility. Yes, he is incredibly attracted to the man on the other side of the door. It was an instant draw, the likes of which Eric’s never experienced, and he can't seem to shake the fluttering nerves that flit from his stomach to his fingertips. The lack of control is worrying, and he doesn’t want to be feeling it when he needs to be in top form. If anything, it's a sign of how out of practice he is.
He was in the scene for several years,, acting as a Dominant in both relationships and hookups. But he left. He stopped, because he never found fulfillment with anyone in the scene. And yet, he’s never found fulfillment outside of it, either. This became clear with his last failed relationship, the one that pulled him out of the scene to begin with. He's always wanted it all to match up—the perfect guy who's also the perfect sub—but life hasn't worked out that way. And now, Eric's not that person anymore. He can't hope for that perfect matchup anymore—he's had his heart broken by hoping too much. He's learned to be careful and weigh his options. To stay logical. To stay calm.
So he can go in, and do his best for this guy, let himself have a hookup and take whatever consequences come of it, good or bad. Or he can leave now, stay in this zone of comfort he’s retreated to, and leave this poor, beautiful sub sitting there, abandoned.
He unlocks the door.
